13th February 2010
|
Beverley and Holderness Liberal Democrats have selected Dr Craig Dobson as the party’s candidate for the General Election.
Dr Dobson is a General Practitioner and a Senior Lecturer in Medical Education and General Practice at the Hull York Medical School. In the latter capacity he covers practices and hospitals in the Beverley and Holderness areas. He is also honorary treasurer for the Humberside faculty of the Royal College of General Practitioners and is a specialist adviser in General Practice to the General Medical Council. He feels passionately about the need for electoral reform to help re-engagement between voters and politicians. Craig is a champion of open government and wants to see more power transferred from Westminster to the Local Authorities. He has a long-standing concern for human rights and is a member of Amnesty International. Craig is married with four children. |

- Within the first 48 hours, more than 35,000 people joined our movement for fair votes now, and we're not stopping there.
As thousands in the crowd chanted as one yesterday, and all the news channels carried us live, you could feel that we are shaping the conversation about our next government and the necessity of concrete electoral reform as part of any deal.
