Craig Dobson says, "I will put local people first - being there to listen and stand up for my constituency at Westminster. I will be open and honest about all expenses incurred in representing Beverley and Holderness."
My priorities for Beverley and Holderness and Britain are:
1 A fair electoral system. The current system is both corrupt and no longer fit for purpose. We have too many MPs and I would reduce the number by 150 having them elected by proportional representation. I would support the notion of recall whereby the people of Beverley and Holderness could have me recalled and initiate a by- election if a petition is raised with 5% of the electorate as signatories. More power should be concentrated in the local councils so the people who know the area well make the decisions that affect the locality.
2 A fair tax system. The rich must pay more and the lower and medium income earners less. I would support the Liberal Democrat Policy of a raise in the personal tax exempt allowance to £10,000 payed for by closing tax loopholes for the rich.
3 A fair education system where class sizes are smaller. The poorest 2.5 million children attract extra funding to the school they attend allowing for more teachers in the class room. I would support an end to University Tuition fees for the first degree when economic conditions allow.
4 A fair and greener economy. I would support investment in local green infrastructure ensuring the insulation of public buildings and rural homes. I want Beverley and Britain to flourish by promoting the notion of local sustainable produce.
