East Riding Tories Waste Council Tax Payers Money On Huge Golden Handshakes

Craig Dobson, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Beverley & Holderness has criticised the system of giving large payments to the pension funds of Council officials.

Craig Dobson was referring to East Riding of  Yorkshire Council paying £364,205 into the fund of Sue Lockwood as part of an early retirement package.  Ms Lockwood, who earns £130,000 a year, is to stand down as Director of Corporate Resources at the end of the year.

Craig Dobson, Liberal Democrat Candidate for Beverley and Holderness said " The large payout by the Tory controlled council needs to be contrasted with what has happened in the adjacent Liberal Democrat controlled Hull City Council, where the scheme allowing such large payouts was abolished four years ago.

It is interesting to note that there are twice as many officials earning over £100,000 in Tory controlled East Riding of Yorkshire Council compared with Liberal Democrat controlled Hull City Council."
If the Tories can't be trusted to use Council Tax Payers money wisely on the East Riding  - why should we trust them to run the government?
