Biography
The Liberal Democrats local party in Beverley & Holderness consists of a Constituency Executive, elected Councillors on the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, and nearly 100 members, many of whom are Town and Parish Councillors.
The East Riding of Yorkshire Councillors are Stewart Willie, Diana Hoskins and Maureen Wastling (all representing Mid Holderness), Polly Worsdale (North Holderness), Carole Lynn and Carole Walker (SW Holderness)and John Bird (Beverley St. Mary's).
In the 2005 General Election, Stewart Willie increased the Liberal Democrat vote by over 2,000 and the party's share of the vote increased by over 3% at the expense of both other major parties.
